Healthy Family Weekend Tips

Do something healthy together as a family this weekend! Families who make fitness fun and a priority are healthier and happier than their couch potato counterparts. Plus, kids naturally follow the lead their parents set. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Take a hike at a nearby park, pack a picnic lunch and make it a day
  • Go for a family bike ride
  • Shoot some hoops (we have a hoop in the driveway and this is one of our favorites)
  • Go ice skating or roller skating
  • Play a game of family touch football
  • Play catch
  • How about a good old game of freeze tag or dodge ball
  • Feel the need for video games? Play a sports game on the Wii or get down with Dance Dance Revolution

The key is to get moving and do it as a family. What are your favorite family fitness activities?
