Popcorn Box Blog Party – My Take

Popcorn Box Blog Party – My Take

It is a lot fun having very crafty friends, especially when they send you a package of seemingly unrelated items and challenge you to make SOMETHING. This year Laura Kelly’s Popcorn Box Blog Party package arrived and the contents looked like this.

Popcorn box challenge

A popcorn box from World Market, felt from Kunin Felt, washi tape from Scotch, Adorn It stickers and scrapbook paper and a Lollipics lollipop. Our challenge was to make something fun out of this assortment of supplies.

Candy corn is my favorite Halloween treat and while I would have happily filled that box with candy corn, it is just not good for us so I used Pirate’s Booty as my snack of choice. But… the candy corn theme still prevailed.

Laura included some of her fun doodles, too. I basically took the orange, yellow and white felt and created my own rustic or “deconstructed” candy cane design. I used the washi tape to attach Laura’s doodle and filled my container.

Using my Sizzix and the Adorn It supplies, I added a tag with my daughter’s name so she knew this was her box for movie night. Super simple, kind of funky but my daughter loved it – especially the Lollipics lollipop.

I love how it looks with my fun rustic light up pumpkin from AC Moore and need to find something non-perishable to put in the container so we can enjoy it all season. Any ideas?

The best part about Laura’s blog parties is seeing what everyone else made! Take a look at some of these creative uses for the box!

And another bonus… enter to win some crafty prizes from this year’s sponsors!
