Sounds like we're on the same schedule. Going through the peanut in the nose with two year old. Doc couldn't see anything in nostril this morning and airway seems clear. It has either come out or gone in further. He suggests we wait for other symptoms like smell of rotten food to develop before taking him to an ENT in 24 hours.

I just experienced the peanut up the nose with my 3-year-old daughter. I tried tweezers, tryed to get her to blow her nose, and finally I found this site and I covered the unobstructed nostril, covered her mouth with mine and blew that sucker right out! It didn't bother her a bit! She was so relieved to get that peanut out of her nose and I was so relieved to be rid of that problem. Not to mention it was a lot faster and cheaper method of removal than the emergency room - to say nothing of how stressful it would have been for both of us.

I put a rock in my ear when I was a kid. I remember the doctor burned himself on the tweezer when he took it out of the autoclave.

Thank you for the story! My daughter just stuck a peanut up her nose 15 minutes ago, so I did a search online and found your story.
It worked!

My son and a neighbor were playing when a bean bag chair broke. The neighbor kid shoved bean bag filler into my sons ear. We got most of it out, but there was one styrofoam ball that would not come out.

For years the kid had constant ear infections. It trapped moisture in the ear. The doctors could never get the thing out because it was too large to fit, (and the pain of the infection) apparently it had been compressed and shoved in.

I spent years worrying about the thing and trying to get it out.

Finally, when he was a teen it just came out on its own. I guess the ear canal had grown or it had been worn away from our efforts. He hasn't had an ear infection since.

Glad your story ended so quickly.

I am really glad to read that she is fine. I'll now be on the look out for my girl stuffing things up her nose. I had hoped at 2.5 she'd be past that stage....but I am guessing I am wrong now.

Karen - I am hoping my daughter learned her lesson and we won't be having to go down that road again. I am sure the doctor looked at me funny while we were trying to get her to let us look up her nose with the light. I had to look at her and say are we going to do this the hard way or the easy way - because she is so dramatic she will try to con the doctors out of doing their job.

Thanks for stopping in!
